I remember that my deskmate in highschool had a binary watch. I also remember asking him the time very often, just to piss him off . Of course we both had mobile phones, but then, where’s all the fun?

I really don’t see the use of this type of watch. If you carry a watch, you carry it because you want to find out the time fast. It’s faster to ask someone what time is it than to look at your binary watch. Also, you can’t show off, because when you’re asked the time and answer after 5 minutes you’re uncool. And yes, the watch in the photo actually shows the time .
