Over time I had a variety of hard-disks. A couple of Seagates, a Maxtor, a Samsung and two Western Digital. The two Seagates lasted for approx. 6 months each, the Maxtor one year, the Samsung 3 months (
). Now I have two Western Digitals, one having 40G and the other 250G. The 40G one has around 4 years and doesn’t seem to have any problem. The 250G one has 2 years and is in perfect shape!
Western Digital hard-disks are pretty cheap and very durable!

Seagate 320G for about 3 years, no problems ;D (using it daily)
But I also have like 3-4 WD but all are around 40-80 g.. also no problems.. also 2 maxtors 80 gigs.. no prob.. i guess i was just lucky ;D
Yep, it’s all about luck
. But one thing is for sure. The Samsung was a total disaster
.
Western Digital suge(sux). I had about 4 Western Digital hard-disks by now, and they all ended up hot and smoking…really, they all somehow managed to almost set my PC on fire, on the other hand, I have a 5 years old Seagate, and still working fine.
So yeah…Seagate Rulez !!!
You have to have luck with HDDs
. You had luck with Seagate, I had with WD
Oh c’mon… you know that’s bullshit. Why do you think Seagate is more expensive than WD ? It is obvious man, more expensive means better. (In some limits)
I’ll have to disagree with your last statement. More expensive desn’t automatically mean better
That is why I said “In some limits”, but still…
