Why I think the BounceRate is irrelevant for a blog

The general reason is because, in my opinion, the front page is the most important part of the blog. How do people read a blog? They usually check the front page for new stuff, in the case they don’t use an RSS reader. Why do people do this? Because most of the time it’s not their first time on the blog.

Doing this, the bounce rate goes up, up and away  .

How to have your own site with only 9 Euros

Having your own domain is nice. Having a host for it, the same. You can have both with only 9 euros. First of all you have to go and buy your domain. If you want your own domain you have to pay! That’s it. A .net domain is around 9 euros per year. Buying your domain can be made instantly, activation however could take up to 24 hours. After you have your domain, you have to find a good host. I currently recommend 000webhost.

When searching for a web host you have too look after a few things:

  • the webspace (the more the better!) – I think around 250MB would suffice for a personal website/blog.
  • the monthly bandwidth (again, the more the better) – this really depends on the amount of trafic your site will have. 000webhost offers 100GB/month.
  • NO ADS! This has been one of the most important things I looked after. Some hosts force ads in your site, which is not cool for your visitors!
  • Codes accepted. Some hosts limit the code range you can use. This could be a big problem sometimes.
  • The ability to use your own domain, not a sub-domain on their site!
  • Optionally you may want more than one mySQL database, a cool administration panel, subdomains, etc.

As I said 000webhost is the best one I found :) . I know I never mentioned a price for the host. That’s the whole idea! The host is free! Your goal is to have as many advantages for free!

So, adding up: 9Euros for the domain + 0Euros for host = site with 9Euros :-D . Happy site-making!

‘ello :)

Everyone has to have a ‘Hello World’ post! This is mine.

I just installed WordPress, and I’m currently searching for a Theme. After that I will be adding some Plugins. Why did I choose WordPress? Because I can customise it in any way I want can. ‘Can’ because I am not a great web-designer :)

So here we go! Wish me luck :) .
